National Kidney Services (NKS), in conjunction with the National Kidney Foundation, collects your contributions of used clothing and household items in order to sustain programs aimed at reducing the prevalence of chronic kidney disease throughout the nation.

It’s easy to make a difference in the lives of people with kidney disease when you donate to charities like NKS and NKF. Because we offer a convenient, free donation pickup service for all of our donors, you’ll never be in doubt about where to donate clothes in the Charlotte area. We’ve also established an entire network of donation locations throughout North Carolina and upstate South Carolina, so the donating process can easily fit into your busy schedule. Donate by:

  • Scheduling a free donation pickup – Call 866-408-6464 or fill out our online form to add your name and phone number to our regular call list. We will contact you when we’re scheduling donation pickups in your area. On the evening before your pickup, pack your donations in bags or boxes labeled with “NKS,” and place them outside where they will be visible from the road. Our drivers will leave a tax receipt for your convenience.


  • Dropping off your donations – Bring your donations to any of the Value Village thrift department stores located throughout Charlotte and the surrounding areas. These locations have agreed to accept donations on our behalf as part of our Value Village Partnership Program.

In addition to clothes, NKS gladly accepts a wide variety of other tax-deductible* donations such as books, toys, electronics, collectibles, furniture, small appliances, dish sets, pots and pans, decorative items, and much more.
