Donations in Columbus, Lancaster, Dayton & Surrounding Areas Help Kidney Patients in Need

Donations in OhioFinding donations to contribute to National Kidney Services (NKS) and the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio (NKF) is as easy as glancing around your basement, attic, or garage. Take a peek inside kitchen cabinets, or check the rec room shelves. We guarantee you’ll find a variety of items, like clothing, toys, books, and small appliances that you no longer need. Instead of throwing these items away, donate them to our Columbus area charity. You can give your items a second home, all while helping those in need and assisting NKS in the battle against kidney disease.

If you’d like some other ideas about how or where you can find donations for our Columbus area kidney charity, check out the following tips:

  • Home – Closets are a great place to start when you’re looking for donations at home. Donate clothes that you haven’t worn in more than a year, or items that your children have outgrown. Call 614-351-2900 or fill out our online form to add your name to our regular donation call list.
  • Work – Tell your co-workers about NKS and ask if they have any items they’d like to donate. Electronics and small pieces of office furniture that your workplace no longer needs also make great donations. NKS will be happy to make a donation pick up at your office.
  • Garage sales – The unsold items at garage sales, yard sales, and community sales make wonderful donations. NKS can even schedule a special Saturday pickup for these large collections.

Our office accepts calls Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Once you’ve added your contact information to our call list, you will be notified when we are scheduling a donations pickup in your area, whether you’re in Columbus, Lancaster, Delaware, Dayton, Springfield, Washington Court House, or elsewhere in central Ohio. On the day of your scheduled donation pickup, simply bag or box donations and label with “NKS” or “NKF.” Put them outside in a dry place where they will be visible from the road. NKS drivers will always leave a tax receipt for your convenience. You can also bring your tax-deductible* donation to any NKS donation drop box in Columbus, Washington Court House, Grove City, or Westerville, or donate at any Ohio Thrift location.
