Donate Used Clothes and Household Items in Charlotte & Other Communities in North Carolina & Upstate South Carolina

Donate Used CharlotteResidents of Charlotte and surrounding areas can donate used items to help support the fight against kidney disease throughout North Carolina and upstate South Carolina. National Kidney Services (NKS) offers a variety of convenient ways for you to donate used clothing and household items, the proceeds from which go directly to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). NKF is a nonprofit health organization that devotes its efforts to funding kidney disease research, public education, prevention, and patient advocacy programs.

We encourage you to donate used items like clothes, shoes, small furniture, small appliances, electronics, books, toys, kitchenware, decorative items, linens, and much more. We offer free donation pick up services for our donors throughout Charlotte, Ballantyne, Mint Hill, Matthews, Cornelius, Davidson, and all surrounding areas. Simply call 866-408-6464 or fill out our online form to add your name and phone number to our rotational pick up list.

Here are some details about our donation pick up service:

  • Standard weekday donation pickups take place Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to dark.
  • Expedited pickups and special Saturday collections are available upon request.
  • Once you add your contact information to our call list, an NKS representative will contact you approximately every four to six weeks to ask if you have used items to donate.
  • All donations must be packed in bags or boxes and labeled with “NKS.”
  • On the evening before your scheduled pick up, place your items outside in a dry place where they will be visible from the road.
  • NKS donation pick up drivers cannot enter your house to collect donations or pick up donations that are not properly labeled.

If you prefer to donate used items to NKS by making a donation drop off, we have partnered with Value Village locations in Charlotte, Gastonia, Kannapolis, and Mooresville to accept tax-deductible* donations on our behalf.
