Donate to a Worthy Charitable Organization in the Charlotte Area

Charitable Organization CarolinaNational Kidney Services (NKS) is a charitable organization in the Charlotte area that collects donations of used clothing and housewares from residents and businesses throughout the Triad region of north-central North Carolina. The proceeds we generate from these items go directly to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and its efforts to increase awareness about the risk factors of chronic kidney disease. With your help, we believe that we can improve the health of individuals throughout the nation.

We’re proud to partner with NKF to fight the battle against kidney disease because, of every dollar donated to NKF, 79 cents goes directly to supporting programs and services initiated by this charitable organization, including:

  • The “Love Your Kidneys” campaign, which enhances public awareness about kidney disease and the importance of early detection.
  • A program called “END THE WAIT!” that educates people about how important it is to become organ donors.
  • The Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP), which offers free kidney health screenings and educational literature to at-risk individuals.

To support the National Kidney Foundation by donating to NKS, simply call 866-408-6464 or sign up online to be added to our donation pickup list. You can also donate to our charitable organization in Charlotte by dropping off your donations at any Value Village thrift department store. All contributions to our charitable organization are tax deductible*, and we welcome a wide variety of used items, including men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes, shoes and accessories, electronics, cookware and serving utensils, silverware and glassware, small appliances, furniture, decorative items, books, toys, tools, and more.
